Safe2Say Reported Incident

Last night, we received an anonymous Safe2Say tip about a concern for the safety and security of our senior high school community. Pennsylvania State Police reported that the alleged threat was unfounded.

Walk-in vaccination clinic - Whooping Cough

Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine announced that the department will conduct a walk-in vaccination clinic at the Indiana County State Health Center, 75 North Second Street, Indiana, PA 15701 on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in response to an ongoing whooping cough outbreak.
● TDAP (pertussis) Vaccinations will be available for anyone who is not vaccinated and is over 10 years of age - regardless of insurance status/provider.
● Information and consultation will be available concerning vaccinations and the disease

PAYS Survey - Grades 6, 8, 10, & 12

The Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) is a biennial survey of youth in the 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grades. PAYS asks questions about students’ perspectives of their school environment, as well as attitudes, knowledge and behaviors concerning alcohol, tobacco, other drugs (ATOD), violence, depression, and other problem behaviors. The survey also collects information about risk factors which are the conditions that increase the likelihood that a child will develop problem behaviors later in life, and it also collects information about protective factors – people or conditions in a community that can buffer a youth from risk.

IASD Text Messaging Services for Families

In order to comply with new FCC regulations, Indiana Area School District will be changing the method of how you receive text messages from our district. This new method requires that you provide approval to continue to receive our text notifications.

New Start/End Times for 2019-20 School Year

On April 8, 2019, IASD Board of School Directors approved a motion that (1) extends the junior and senior high school days by 5 minutes and (2) delays the start time for the elementary schools beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.
