The District was notified that two additional students at the Senior High have tested positive for COVID-19. The students were in school during their infectious period. As a result of contact exposure, 1 additional student/staff member will be quarantined. The positive case WILL be attributed to the District.
Based on the information above as well as our current case count, we will continue to stay open under the current model. See below for the current case numbers at each building as of today. With the closure on Fridays, the case count is reset back at zero. The decision to be remote on Fridays has permitted us to remain open in many instances.
- Senior High - 2 active cases
- Junior High - 0 active cases
- Eisenhower - 1 active case
- Horace Mann - 0 active cases
- Ben Franklin - 0 active cases
- East Pike - 0 active cases
As a reminder, the 14-day clock starts at the onset of symptoms, not when the District is informed of the test results.
As always, the number of confirmed cases can change at any time. We understand the terrible inconvenience a closure causes our families; however, we have a responsibility to make you aware of the possibility. My goal is not to cause panic, rather it is to help make you aware of the current situation in case the District needs to make a change rather quickly.
Mr. Michael J. Vuckovich
