Summer Programing Opportunity - Interest Survey

Dear Families:

IASD is pleased to announce that we are working on the creation of a summer enrichment/acceleration program that will operate in June and August. Your child(ren) could attend one session or both (June and Late July/Early August). The day would begin around 8:30 AM and end at 12:30 PM. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation would all be provided - free of charge - for all interested families. This program will be fun and beneficial for ALL children, regardless of their academic performance so far. The goal is to grow all children by delivering evidence-based interventions and supports, aligned with the Commonwealth’s standards to all attendees. We will use our diagnostic assessment data to guide and inform our instruction. Our focus, at the K-5 level, will be mathematics and literacy. While we are still in the planning stages, we need to gauge our families’ interest in participating.

Please know that we are working diligently to design a program that will educate as well as engage your child(ren) in fun and exciting activities. The educational component will be delivered by our highly qualified instructors. The activities portion will be led by the YMCA of Indiana County.

We have a lot of work to be accomplished, but we are working relentlessly to develop a program that will truly meet the needs of your child(ren).  Stay tuned for more information over the next several weeks and months as we are working out the details. We will still offer summer school for credit recovery/advancement for our secondary students as we have previously done.  For now, please watch the video and consider completing the interest survey.  I appreciate your time and effort. Know that we are very fortunate to have your family a part of the Indiana Area School District.

All the best,

Mr. Michael J. Vuckovich

Superintendent of Schools
